Emergence Mentor Choreographer – John Scott
John is a Dublin born choreographer, singer, and performer. In 1991 he founded irish modern dance theatre with company touring including New York, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Sweden, Germany, Italy.
He currently dances in Oona Doherty’s Hard to be Soft, Meredith Monk’s Quarry (Spoleto Festival) and for Yoshiko Chuma, Sarah Rudner, Anna Sokolow and Thomas Lehmen.
John was awarded African Refugee Network’s Culture Award for his work with Refugees and Survivors of Torture and is a subject of Sadlers Wells’ 52 Portraits by Jonathan Burrows, Matteo Fargion and Hugo Glendinning.
John’s recent works include ‘Cloud Study’ for Galway International Arts Festival, Smock Alley and Dance Limerick and ‘Inventions’ for Kilkenny Arts Festival.
