Members of Tallaght Youth Band performing with North Strand Kontraband

In Feb 2011, members of Tallaght Youth Band took part in a NOISE music workshop with NSKB and performed later that night with them at Áras Chrónáin Irish Cultural Centre in Clondalkin.

‘The Pogues, Thin Lizzy, Planxty, Frank Zappa’ are just some of the great music acts which inspire the eclectic Klezmer-inspired sound of The North Strand Kontra Band. Formed in 2005 on the north side of Dublin and playing a wide range of instruments such as the clarinet, trombone, double bass and banjo, experimenting with many different music styles has allowed the band to further their style of music.
