As the Irish Times points out, “it’s not every day that a relatively-unknown Irish singer is bigged-up by KanYe West” but this is the sort of thing that has happened to Valerie Francis since the release of her debut album, Slow Dynamo. The video for her single ‘Punches’ – which caught West’s eye – won IMTV’s Video of the Year, while Slow Dynamo was nominated for a clutch of awards including Choice Music Prize and won Album of the Year in the Irish Independent.

Cat Dowling writes beautifully dark pop songs. Her debut album "The Believer" is a collection of beautifully crafted and treasured songs, offering low-key beats coloured with layers of sonic delights and a voice both hushed and passionate that will punch you in the gut.

South Dublin County Council Arts Grants and Bursary Awards 2015
We are delighted to announce that applications are now invited for the South Dublin County Council Arts Bursary Awards 2015.
Application forms, are available to download from our website at http://www.sdcc.ie/services/parks-recreation/arts under the ‘Arts Grants and Bursary Awards’ section.
These grants and awards are only open to those living in or working in the South Dublin County Council administrative area. South Dublin County Council administrative area includes Rathfarnham, Tallaght, Clondalkin, Lucan, and the rural areas of Saggart, Rathcoole, Newcastle and Brittas.
South Dublin County Council may ask for further information in support of an application; however, responsibility for submitting all requested information rests with the applicant, and applications will be deemed ineligible if applications are not completed correctly and in full. Closing Date for All Applications is 2nd April 2015 at 1pm
